happy steak-and-chocolate day!

mardi gras is when you eat a lot of chocolate and steak.

happy fat tuesday.

in our house, this means gorging on beef and rich chocolatey stuff. in the past, we’ve gone temporarily vegan during lent so the gorging has been highly apropros. but my family and i have learned from one or two lenten seasons past that when i go without meat or dairy, i become an enraged irritable churlish knotty-pated joithead [click to get your own shakespearean insult]. so i don’t know if it would be wise for me, my husband, kids, or coworkers to do it again.

still, mardi gras is as good a time as any to indulge, so we won’t kill that part of the tradition.
